When most summer flowers have faded, the Dahlia Garden by the Klosterwiese stands in full splendour. Gardeners and planners from the parks department lead through the grounds and share first-hand knowledge of the varieties, their care and the garden’s history.
The tour is part of the “Park- und Gartenführungen 2026” series, which presents various municipal grounds from April to October. The meeting point is the Hirtenhäuschen by the Klosterwiese, from where the group walks to the nearby Dahlia Garden.
The date falls within the period of the vote for the most beautiful dahlia, in which visitors cast ballots for their favourite variety from 10 to 30 September. The winning dahlia is announced on 1 October in the Dahlia Garden.
