The Hubers (formerly Hotel Deutscher Kaiser) is a 3-star hotel in the centre of Baden-Baden. It sits between Augustaplatz and Leopoldsplatz in a hotel quiet zone, just a few metres from Baden-Baden’s Kongresshaus, the Museumsmeile, the Kurhaus (spa house) and the Theater. It is run in the third generation by siblings Charlotte and Simon Huber.

In 1836, one of the first houses there was built on a meadow plot in the Farbmatt area — on the site of today’s hotel on Merkurstraße. Even then it offered 13 guest rooms and a simple tavern named “Fortuna”. After the victorious war against France, the inn was renamed “Zum Deutschen Kaiser” in 1870/71 and was granted a full restaurant licence.
In 1960, the Huber family finally took over the building and, with diligence and confidence, brought it up to the standard then in demand. The business prospered, and in 1980 they decided on a complete rebuild of the by-then almost 150-year-old building. In March 1982, the new “Deutscher Kaiser” hotel opened its welcoming doors, now in the second generation.
Because it was repeatedly confused with the Hotel Deutscher Kaiser on Lichtentaler Hauptstraße (Lichtental was incorporated in 1909), the suffix “im Centrum” was added.
In 2019, siblings Charlotte and Simon Huber took over the hotel, which was renamed Hubers Hotel at the same time. Supported by partners and family, they redesigned the hotel in a modern style and opened the hotel’s own café-bar Bruder und Schwester.
