Neuweier is a district of Baden-Baden and one of the three villages of Baden-Baden’s Rebland (wine-growing region).
The village lies at an elevation of 182 m above sea level and covers an area of 606 hectares, of which 334 ha are forest. Of the remaining 272 ha, 124 ha are planted with vines. This makes Neuweier one of the largest wine-growing communities in the Ortenau.

Buildings
At the entrance to the village stands Schloss Neuweier, which was built in the 12th century as a moated castle. It is probably the most important building in Neuweier. In the centre of Neuweier is the Church of St Michael (Kirche St. Michael). At the end of Mauerbergstraße is the Fatima Chapel. The landmark of Baden-Baden’s Rebland is the Yburg, which sits enthroned high above Neuweier on the Yberg.

Small-scale architecture
By the Church of St Michael, the Evangelistenbrunnen (Evangelists’ Fountain) catches the eye of waiting bus passengers and passers-by. It commemorates various important noble families of Neuweier.
Events
In May, the Weinwandertag (wine hiking day) of the Heimatverein Neuweierer Rebläuse e.V. traditionally takes place. The wine hike leads from the starting point at the winegrowers’ cooperative once around Neuweier, past numerous wine stands among the vines, and then ends back at the cooperative. In late June or early July, the castle hosts the castle concerts. The Baden-Baden Philharmonic plays in the castle courtyard. Some events take place as part of the winegrowers’ cooperative’s “Kultur im Gewölbekeller” (culture in the vaulted cellar) series and can be found in the cooperative’s events calendar.
