IP Interior Design is a furnishings retailer and interior design studio on Ludwig-Wilhelm-Straße in Baden-Baden. The firm advises on, plans and carries out interiors for apartments, hotels, medical practices and law offices, and keeps a showroom of furniture, lighting and fabrics in a listed villa.[1][2]
The company
Iris Piening founded IP Interior Design in 1995. Her son Roger Piening joined in 2019, bringing the second generation into the business. The two interior designers work across Germany and abroad, with their focus on Baden-Baden and the Rhine-Neckar region. Their projects range from private homes — penthouses, townhouses, city villas and chalets — to hotels, hospitality venues, medical practices and law offices.[1]
Services
The studio sees a project through from measuring up and surveying the existing space, through floor plans, furnishing and lighting concepts and the choice of materials and colours, to delivery and installation. It also produces 3D visualisations, coordinates the trades involved and supervises the work on site. Two services can be booked on their own: a colour consultation of about two hours, and a full day accompanied by an interior designer.[3]
Showroom and range
The villa stands on the western side of Ludwig-Wilhelm-Straße, facing the Lichtentaler Allee, a few steps north of the Bertholdbad. The showroom presents furniture, curtains, wallpaper and rugs, lamps and light objects, designer kitchens, taps and bathroom fittings, and garden furniture. The company’s list of manufacturers runs to more than 170 international brands. Its own fabric atelier offers a choice of more than 4,000 fabrics and makes them up on site into curtains, Roman blinds, pleated blinds and upholstery.[2]
Awards
The interiors platform Houzz gave the company a “Best of Houzz” award for customer satisfaction in 2017.[4] In 2025 the Luxury Lifestyle Awards listed IP Interior Design among their “Top 100 Interior Designers of the World”.[5]
