Belle vie is a retail shop on Sophienstraße in Baden-Baden stocking French home accessories, fragrances, cosmetics and fine foods. The shop sits in the Haus Victoria, right on Leopoldsplatz.[1] Alfred Ludwig owns the business.[2][3]
Range
The range runs from scented candles, fragrance oils and soaps through cosmetics to table and home textiles such as tablecloths, napkins, throws and cushions. The shop also carries decorative items and delicacies from Provence: lavender honey, jam, tapenade and olive oil from Nyons and from Nicolas Alziari in Nice.[4]
Brands on the shelves include the perfume house Fragonard from Grasse, L’Occitane en Provence, Durance, Maison Berger Paris, Esteban Paris Parfums, the soap maker Marius Fabre, the ceramics house Astier de Villatte, the Paris tea merchant Mariage Frères and the textile makers Garnier-Thiebaut, Le Jacquard Français and IOSIS.[5]
History
Belle vie grew out of the shop Couleurs de Provence on Gernsbacher Straße.[6] Around 2020 the shop moved to Leopoldsplatz, and from then on the Couleurs de Provence website gave Sophienstraße 3a in the Haus Victoria as its address.[7] It has traded under the name Belle vie since November 2021.[1]
