Turgenev Memorial

The Turgenev Memorial stands in the Lichtentaler Allee at the level of the Brenners Park-Hotel. It was erected in 2000 and commemorates the Russian writer Ivan Sergeyevich Turgenev, who lived in Baden-Baden from 1863 until the Franco-Prussian War of 1870.

Memorial

The memorial shows a bronze bust of Turgenev. On the bronze top of the plinth, the writer’s name in Russian and his life dates can be read: Иван Сергеевич Тургенев 1818-1883 The bust stands on a white stone plinth. On it are a transcription of the name, the life dates, and the period he spent in Baden-Baden: Ivan Turgenev 1818-1883 / Baden-Baden 1863-1870
